Live Session 1
Wednesday 16 July 2025 – 12:00 – 13:00 CEST: Kick-off session
In this kick-off session our host Marianella Parra walked us through the different ways you can create your own learning pathway. Remember that as a Summer School student you can either follow one of the level progression pathways (I want to become and entrepreneur, I want to upskill, I want to grow my business, I want to reflect and grow) or you can take our innovator paths focussed on the core content areas of entrepreneurship, financial literacy, sustainability, digital skills and women’s entrepreneurship. Guest speaker Paul Ranson shared lessons from his experience in the gaming industry, highlighting the value of setting ambitious goals, embracing failure as a growth tool, and staying connected within the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Participants were encouraged to begin their chosen summer innovator paths, engage with the community, and work toward earning digital badges.
Live Session 2
Wednesday 23 July 2025 – 12:00 – 13:00 CEST: Midway check-in session
In this second live session, we continued to explore the learning pathways: entrepreneurship, sustainability, digital finance, and women’s entrepreneurship. Our wonderful host Marianella Parra recapped key platform features, highlighted common entrepreneurial challenges, and encouraged us to start or continue our learning.
We were also joined by guest speaker Roz Dean, who shared her inspiring journey of launching a woodworking-for-wellbeing business, addressing mental health, isolation, and the challenges of being a woman in a male-dominated field. It was also great to hear from several of our course participants, hearing your challenges and how you aim to overcome them.
Live Session 3
Wednesday 30 July 2025 – 12:00 – 13:00 CEST: Reflection & celebration
The third session focused on overcoming key entrepreneurial challenges—embracing financial risk, tackling imposter syndrome, and identifying the right market niche. Guest speaker Maggie O’Carroll shared her “3 M’s” (marketing, money, and management) framework, offering practical advice on sales, team-building, and testing business ideas through a minimum viable product. Participants engaged in lively discussions and activities, sharing insights and experiences, including powerful contributions from learners across Europe and beyond. Attendees were encouraged to keep learning, use the Padlet and LinkedIn group to share ideas, and save the date for upcoming events including a September hackathon and November Finance Academy and International Forum.
